history and step required to develop C language
History:
In 1972 at AT and T Bell Laboratories a person named Dennis Ritchie developed C language. C language was derived from B language given by Ken Thomson in 1969-1970.At start it was known as K and R language (Kernighan and Ritchie language). It was specially develop for UNIX system. It was standardized by ANSI (American National Standard Institute).
Step required to Develop C Language:
The step required to develop C program are as Follows:
● Create a program in turbo c editor.
● Save a program
● Two extensions to save a program; .c, .cpp
● Compile a program in Turbo C++
● Linking
● Loading
● Execution
Create a program
Open the TC editor to create a program in c language.by clicking the Turbo C++ icon the Turbo C++ IDE (Integrated Development Environment) will open.
Save the program
From file menu select save option. A dialogue box will appear. Write the name of the file with extension “.C” and click on save button. Shortcut key is F2.
Compiling the program
Converting the source code into object code while after debugging the errors. From menu bar select compile option. Shortcut key to compile a program is ALT+F9.
Linking a program
Linker attach or add standard object files with the object file of our program and also create the executable file of that object code program.
Loading a program
Loader loads the executable file of the program into memory so that processor can access it and run it for results.
Execution of program
Running an executable file is called execution of program. From menu bar select Run option. Shortcut key to run a program is ctrl+F9.
